What’s a typical day of an I banker?? well to start off, once you put down your signature to say that you’re willingly to subdue to all the slavery work you got coming on, you will constantly be working. 20 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Yup. Life=Work.
After office hours? what is that? No such thing in the IB lingo. Sleep you say? 3 hrs. 4 MAX. JP/CHN/AUS closing time is another new dawn for European market, then u struggle through US market while you’re off LSE/EURONex. Movies? All the crap on CNN and oh let’s not forget the staple of the financial market, Bloomberg. Read? Daily dosage of WSJ, IHT,FT, NYT and the endless list of periodicals. Leisure? Spending time dining and drifting through private parties, mingling with people who seriously qualify to be your dad(they’re nice really, besides being rice and filthy rich) and the pronfundity of the discussions about politics+ Econs +$$ + real estate+ SS and more $$ would just leave you craving for more of what it feels like to own that ..POWER..
Handling commodities? Oh good year for you thoughif living the life of a mongrel don’t entice you that much, you can think of… er.. equities (DUH!) Those in forex are always the sharpest of the bunch. Fast, you gotta be fast and that is KEY in moving currencies.
Things move fast and competition is INTENSE!!! Politicking becomes you second nature as you crawl into that Barney costume and play nice while presenting to them a cocktail of drugs to choose from, just enough to hang themselves.
The perks are amazing but so are the low downs. Extreme. Nothing in between really. Sigh. Why does the good stuff always gives you that high that just makes the fall so much harder?

well good news is that I’m almost 2/3 done through the rollercoaster ride and only 1 more paper to go.. unfortunately for me, the last one is the TOUGHEST.. gosh, I’ve just gone through all the stuff on the reading list.. and I think I’m brain dead now …voltaire, friedman, socrates/plato and paine.. a few to begin with.. gosh.. I din know that my course is a crossbreed of all this heavy duty stuff… anyhow.. will get tough on it!! fingers crossed XX
I was jst listening to the radio and the UK ALL TIME TOP 40 (the best of British musicians/bands)was on.. the countdown from 10 to 1 was ..er..interesting.. you got the likes of Queen, Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox, Elton John.. blah blah.. you get my drift.. Surprisingly the no 1 spot went to …….(drum rolls)… WILL YOUNG.. BLIMEY! I didn’t see that coming.. don’t get me wrong I like Will Young but really.. Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody was at 9 and Will’s Leave Right Now gleaming at no. 1?? There must be something awfully wrong with the British public??!! Slap me in the face, am i dreaming?? or is this just another roll of bollock of the repercussion from popular culture?? WOW, either I am damn smart at understanding the way the world works or my brain seriously had enough mind boggling exercises with the books that it’s unable to process any of this ..erm..weird stuff..
Anyhow, it never cease to amaze me how people are getting shallow and even more shallower… guess that’s it with all the complicated gadgets and so called high tech machines that we’re spoiled with.. it makes human lazy not only in terms of physically but super excellent at gathering FAT around your head..and the after effect of popular culture..I’m not saying I’m not affected, HECK I am a by product of American telly shows(Simpsons+BH90210+Friends+SEXnCITY, the whole works) but it never really hit me how bad things are until today..
For goodness sake, this is the world we live in today…girls are reading "Skinny Bitch" and the lads are piling on lager and Big Brother, women going gaga over Blahnik and synthetic breast and men with their male nipples..

A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from a company that apparently "seems" to be one of the big consulting group.. fortune 500 and all that shit… and I’m not sure where they picked up my resume from since I really have no recollection at all of applying to them.. well to cut the story short, they wanted to do an interview with me and was damn pushy abt the time and date.. well watever.. i said yes for the heck of it..
so.. come the day of the interview, YESTERDAY… they called me half and hour earlier than agreed and the first thing they muttered was "we’re on a TIGHT schedule and wanna start right away"..
WTF?? I mean this sort of behaviour from a BIG CONSULTING firm?? My ass lah.. so u have a nice name to go with it.. not suprising the whole interview was fucking shitty.. they were darn cocky and full of shit..
They’ve interviewed me for a post I have no expertise in and expect me to be a "Consultant" and then asked me what I can contribute to the company.. I was like "DUH".. so I told them the general stuff.. and they told me that’s all general stuff.. I replied " well, i am not sure how ur company works but to me a consultant is someone who possess in depth expertise in a field to be able to "consult" a client.. as I don’t think offering amateur advise is fair to client who pay premium price to listen to all that"..
yeah.. yeah.. who created the so called the consulting business?? that sounds to me like the american business model..
It never seem to amaze me how amazing is Accessorize is!! Their stuff are way cool, why is it not in Malaysia???? HUH?? SUx, have to go all the way to SG to get some of the coolest accessories!!
The winter sale really has gone bonkers, tons of stuff going for 50% and some of the stuff I have been drooling since summer is on sale!! yippee.. love it!! love it..!!
